An initiative that had been on the books for a few years, I taught myself Articulate 360 and Rise and set out to deliver qualitative guidance around product onboarding.
To deliver customized interactive education for GoDaddy customers.
These courses were designed to go beyond simple how-to guides and provide qualitative understanding of why things should be done and examples of how to do them well.
I worked with Product Managers, Care agents, and subject matter experts to develop the curriculum for our course.
Then I learned Articulate 360 and Rise to develop a prototype to secure funding for licenses for my team to use those tools. We have launched three courses in the last year, two of which I designed and built personally.
Learners who viewed the first course took action 41.64% of the time versus learners who read comparable help articles who took action 21.19% of the time.
After taking the course aimed at users building a 1-page website, 83% of users self reported that they had published or would soon after taking my course.
In less than an hour, I intended to teach the student how to publish a one page website they'd be proud to send people to. By the end of this course they should be able to:
We were asking learners to search for help and without providing a single single source of education that walked them through what they need to do, how to do it, and how to do it well.
We wanted to prove that there was an appetite for interactive guidance and would prove that by showing higher engagement with lower contact rates.
This course breaks down the steps to use Websites + Marketing's e commerce tools to showcase and sell physical and/or digital products. In 6 short lessons, the learner should know how to use Websites + Marketing to:
Having proven that there is an appetite for interactive guidance we aimed our next experiment at improving activation rates on our Online Store.
We expect that by providing this same type of guidance to customers who are looking to build a store (as we did for customers setting up their first website) we will see an increase in the treatment population publishing an operational online store.
